I love this time of year. Not just the change in weather (which hasn’t really happened in Florida yet), but for the multitude of Oktoberfestesque festivals. We’ve already been to a couple of smaller events over the last few weekends, but I’m really looking forward to the weekend of October 12-14 in Tampa. Over that weekend the Oktoberfest Tampa takes place. We went last year for Saturday and a had a blast. Lots of great beer and food in a park setting. Last year, the sunset views over the Hillsborough river were breathtaking. This year the’ve moved the location down river a bit to a new location at Curtis Hixon park near downtown Tampa, but still on the river. The location is probably even nicer than last year. I can already envision a great day and evening outside on a mid October Florida day. Drinking tasty beer and getting my fill of German themed food.
There is a whole pack of us coming over from the Orlando area and we have our hotel rooms reserved within walking distance. Can’t wait. Mark your calendars and come on out. If you see a goofy looking guy with half a beer in one hand (funny, my beer glass is always half empty…or half full however you want to see it), a brat in the other hand, and is wearing a green alpine hat with white feather, there is a pretty good chance it is me. Come say hello and we can talk while we are in the beer line together…..
I believe you can save some money if you get your advanced tickets by September 30th. Check out the official website for more information
